Wii backups
I recently modified my Wii so I could make backup’s of my games and play them from an external USB hard drive.
I ran into one big hiccup that I could not not find any solutions for so I thought I would post it here in case someone else runs into the same issue.
While trying to install Waninkoko’s CIOS38rev14 it would just go to a black screen and turn off the wiimote. no matter what I did it wouldn’t load the boot.dol
I tried redownloading the files and coping them to the SD card. ( no luck always the same issue) every other boot.dol and wad would load up properly.
Solution!!
Reformat the SD card, do it again if you have to. I used the panasonic tool that is linked on many sites about this procedure.
Now I am playing wii games off the hard drive and not putting wear and tear on my discs or DVD drive.

Programming
I started picking up programming again. I used C# with the XNA libraries to make a quick pong game. This took me about an hour to code up and it is more for the learning experience, but if you want to check it out, leave me a message and i’ll send you the program and/or the source.

Last Post
I decided after 3 days of this, that blogging isn’t really for me. It was fun and all but i don’t have the time to put into a blog every day. Alright it is still April 1 for an hour or so =) My April Fools day was pretty good. When i got into work someone had put post-it notes on all of the computers in the office saying APRIL FOOLS, they also put small post-its over the optical sensors of our mice. Also over night they blew up a whole bunch of balloons and filled the managers’ offices. What made it funnier is when the first one got in, he didn’t want to deal with them, so he put them all in the other’s office so it was impossible to move in there.
My only practical joke came from this article. I made the office printer say INSERT COIN(S). It was pretty funny to get the IT guys to come “fix” the printer. I was a little worried about maybe getting in trouble for “hacking” the printer, but it was benign and IT just laughed about and asked for the script.
All in all it was a good day. As always I await the adventures tomorrow brings.

If you don’t already know, I have a pretty healthy Sudoku addiction. I consider it my meditation time, my time for me to just be with myself without distractions. My favorite site is Websudoku I play on the hard level now. my stats since Aug 31st 2007

After reading Heather’s Blog for 1/2 a year now, i decided to start my own. I promise to try to write more often than her, and if you are actually reading this, you will get everything from me bitching about something to some interesting tech news.
